Completed other writing assignments as needed. Company closed in 2003.

Part-time technical writer responsible primarily for writing user manuals, test procedures, engineering change notices and company newsletter for this photonics/life sciences/opto-electronic test and measurement equipment company.

1987-1990                     Brooktree Corporation  San Diego, California

Corporate Communications (Senior Technical Writer/Editor)
Assisted in setting up internal computer training program for 435 employees. Assignment included program and curriculum development, creation of user manuals, and management of entire program. Classes developed included WORDPERFECT, DOS, LOTUS 1-2-3 and DBASE III. Taught WORDPERFECT.

Managed all internal employee communications, including editing/publishing company newsletter, Employee Communications Committee, Electronic News Conference, Information Video Monitor, Information Meetings, Employee Orientation Program, Employee survey, and Management/Supervisor Upward Appraisal System. Writing tasks included: employee handbook, policy and procedures guidelines, organization announcements, etc.

Engineering Documentation Manager
Developed and implemented documentation/document control department. Wrote specifications for QA, Test Engineering and Maintenance departments.  Identified functional areas where documentation and/or control were not adequate and developed new specifications or controls. Wrote assembly operator examinations for use in a required formal training program.
